Overview

EasyTiley is a dashboard for the FHEM home automation server. Tiles are added, placed freely, resized, merged and saved right in the browser. Device changes arrive in real time, and everything runs in a single container.

What it does

  • Arrange tiles freely. Drag in edit mode, resize at the edges, merge into groups.
  • Devices detected automatically. When adding a tile, EasyTiley lists the device's readings and commands with live values.
  • Real time. FHEM longpoll becomes server-sent events. Polling every three seconds is only the fallback.
  • Many tile types. Switch, dimmer with colour, thermostat, shutter, chart, weather, scenes, notes, clock.
  • Fully offline. No CDNs, no cloud. Dashboards live in SQLite and survive updates.
  • HTTPS and passwords. Works with FHEMWEB over HTTPS and basicAuth. Credentials stay on the server.

Installation

  1. Install Docker and Docker Compose.
  2. git clone https://github.com/Glenn-Dandy/easytiley.git, then run docker compose up -d --build in the folder.
  3. Open http://localhost:8080, enter the FHEM address under Settings, test and save.

How it's built

nginx and php-fpm run together in one image. The backend talks to FHEMWEB via jsonlist2 and set and fetches the CSRF token itself. The front end is plain JavaScript with Gridstack for dragging and resizing. Each dashboard is stored as JSON in SQLite.

Bug fix
  • Group / room box: changes to title, icon (including „No icon“), icon colour and „Show title“ are now applied when editing. The tiles inside the group stay untouched.
